A better gift than a blender

Cleaning Tips from The Wise Guide

I was in desperate need of a new vacuum. I am not a gentle cleaner, so I know to never invest in too expensive of a vacuum.

When I say not gentle, I mean that I bump the walls a little too hard, I run over things that tangle in the brush at the bottom, and I trip around the cord without ever properly putting it back where it needs to go.

I thought the best thing ever was when I found a vacuum that didn’t require a Hoover bag serial #5463787 that was never in stock…obviously, this was before Amazon, and even more likely before the internet.

My existing vacuum cleaner has been so abused that after numerous duct taping repairs, it finally started to smoke and become a severe hazard to anyone trying to operate it.

Off to Bed, Bath and Beyond I go and lo and behold, I found a genius discovery that is new to me. You can now buy a vacuum without a power cord!

EUREKA! Actually, it is a Shark, upright, two ion battery operated specialty that makes me happier than I thought any cleaning item could. Not only was this sweet one on sale, but I had the “20% coupon off one item” to boot.

So what do I do after taking this new number for a spin around the house? I buy a second one online.

Beware dog hair and dust bunnies, you don’t have a chance! Not only can I maneuver around the house and up the stairs without having to look for a plug, but I don’t pull the cord so hard that the prongs bend and I need another repair.

Now for the best part, there are several attachments that make it a handheld, but I am obsessed with the one that has a skinny hose with a brush that slides up and down the tube. This is to be able to do your gentle dusting on and around your furniture, on top of the hard to reach places, and around all the nick knack-patty-wacks. (Your car!) I am not kidding. I am a serious hoarder of small things, I mean collector of small items. This is truly a life changer for all that hidden dust and dog hair everywhere.

What am I doing now? Waiting for my second vacuum to arrive with the free shipping that is offered for any orders over $39.00. Yes, this is so silly but it makes me very happy, and this one will travel with the four dogs and me (remember no power cord). Oh, and maybe I am a collector of large things too.

SCORE!
