The trials and tribulations of Internet shopping.
I realized enough should be enough when shopping online when I recently purchased this jumpsuit, but it had been just long enough that it was past the return date for the full refund.
You know jumpsuits are making a strong comeback according to my blogs and shopping sites?
Well, I have been circling around this one particular jumpsuit like a vulture on a kill.
It’s the only jumpsuit in my closet (I hope), an outfit that looked so cute on a fellow well-known blogger and all I do is put it on and take it off, try it with new shoes, take it off, try with the pant legs rolled up, take it off.
You get the picture. The first time I put it on I went to my daughter’s room to ask her if she needed her car simonized since I felt perfectly dressed for the occasion. With an all too serious face, she replied, “no thanks, but I can think of a few painting projects we need to do around the house.”
I almost peed in my jumpsuit which brought me to the other realization that there was no easy way out of this thing. Using the restroom was out of the question while sporting this contraption. Strike two…three, four, ok, I lost count!
I have styled this thing from every which way except Celine Dion’s famous backward way, but nothing can make this thing look good on me.

I’m not giving up, you will see this outfit someday in all its hilarity just to make a point that all things aren’t meant to be purchased out of spontaneity or when hormones spike. All in all, it is so much better to admit you made a mistake, and return the darn thing while you still can.
I have thought of making a game (making up games are a favorite thing of mine) out of it by asking friends to “style this outfit your best way” with a prize for the winner. Or do I cut it into a short jumpsuit, if only I liked my legs?

After writing this I opened a post from one of my favorite bloggers and a well-known home designer, Emily Henderson. Her post today was about 7 things she might return. One outfit was a short sleeve collared denim JUMPSUIT. Her best advice and a new pact she made with herself – if it’s not a “HELL YES”, it’s a “NO”.
OK. Note to self, next time return ASAP!
